What is CJI?

Columbia, South Carolina
The Carolina Journalism Institute (CJI) is an intensive five-day regional workshop devoted to helping junior high students, high school students, and advisers. CJI does this by enhancing their knowledge of editing, writing, designing and production techniques for all scholastic publications and productions. CJI is a place where people from all across the country can come learn about journalism, while having fun. It is a great learning experience for the students, and also the advisors.

Behind the Capstone Counter

At first glance, the front desk clerk seems to be someone that is looked over and unappreciated; however, his job helps every aspect of the dorm to run smoothly. Brad Knight, the desk clerk at CJI and the Capstone dorms, shares his experiences with us.

"We Want Food.. and We Want it Fast!"

Around lunchtime, each member of CJI has one thought in common: 'Where should I eat today?' The common response is ordering places like Jimmy Johns and Little Caesar Pizza into the dorms, but few of the brave souls attending decide to venture out into the great unknown world of Five Points eating. With our hectic schedules and infinite amount of work to complete, we want good food and we want it fast! Look no further, though. We have created a map filled with numerous scrumptious eateries that will get the job done quick! Just click the "What's Near Us" link on the sidebar and learn where to satisfy your hungry stomach. :) enjoy!
